Obituary For Alexander Clifton "Cliffie" Murray

Alexander Clifton “Cliffie” Murray

The family of Cliffie Murray is deeply saddened to announce his passing at his home on August 24, 2026.

Born in West Branch, he was a beloved son of the late MacKenzie and Velma (MacNutt) Murray. Cliffie was well known by all who knew him for his quick, sarcastic wit and his uncanny ability to bring laughter into any room. Beyond his sense of humor, he was a talented craftsman and cook who took great pride in his carpentry and culinary skills.

Throughout his life, Cliffie worked a wide variety of jobs including carpentry, home heating, appliance repair, taxi driving, and at Crossley. In every chapter of his career, he connected easily with others, making true, lifelong friends along the way.

Above all else, Cliffie’s proudest accomplishment in life was his son, Logan. He leaves behind to mourn his loss Logan, Logan’s partner Jessie, and the absolute joy of his life, his grandson Theo.

He is also survived by his brothers, David and John Allen (April); his sister, Patsy (Randy); his former wife, Sandra; and his cherished nephews Alex and Johnathan, and niece Hayley.

In addition to his parents, Cliffie was predeceased by his brother, Tommy.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 6, at 3:00 p.m. at the West Branch Cemetery. A reception will follow at the West Branch Community Hall, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Cliffie’s life.
