Obituary For George Purney Gosbee

It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our loving Husband/Father George Purney Gosbee of Mount Uniacke Nova Scotia in his 80th year on November 20, 2019.

Purney leaves behind the love of his life his wife of 61 years Georgina (Watkins) Gosbee, daughters Kim (Quentin) Gosbee, Tanya Gosbee, Trudi Gosbee and Nelli (Travis) Nadon. Grandchildren Bridget MacPhee, Allyson MacPhee , Dustin Bamber and Jaxon Nadon, Great grandchildren Jade, Layla, Logan and Rebecca. Also brothers Robie Gosbee and Kenneth Gosbee.Special mention of family friend Liana Fader. Purney was predeceased by his parents Robie and Gertrude Gosbee, sisters Florence, Pauline and Sharon.

Purney was a carpet salesmen for many years before his retirement. Purney had a passion for golf, gardening and woodworking. Purney was a long time member of Sackville United Baptist Church where he enjoyed being a member of the choir, and also held the position of Auditor.

The family would like to thank Dr. Rhonda MacLean for her many years of compassion and care of Purney.

For the past two years Purney resided at the Windsor Elms in Falmouth where he was provided with exceptional care. The family would like to thank all staff at Windsor Elms for taking great care of our Husband/Father. A special thank you to Dawn (CCA)of Windsor Elms who was there holding his hand when he finally went home to be with the Lord.

As per Purneys wishes cremation has taken place.A Celebration of Purneys life will be held Tuesday November 26,2019 at 1pm at Sackville United Baptist Church 1240 Old Sackville Rd Middle Sackville with Peter Metcalfe officiating. A reception will follow downstairs in the church basement. Donations can be made to Sackville United Baptist Church (1240 Old Sackville Rd Middle Sackville NS B4E 3A6) or Alzheimer Society of NS.

    I smile, as I remember Purney. In the choir, wearing the red "choir jacket", telling a joke, or just as he'd inquire how we were doing. These are good memories. May God richly bless you as you think of your memories of a husband, dad, brother, grandfather, friend.........
