Oscar Francis passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, surrounded by family and close friends.

Born in Digby, Nova Scotia, Oscar was the youngest son of loving parents Abigail (Ogden) and Charles Francis. He grew up in a large, hardworking family alongside his many siblings: Claude, Bobby (Robert), Gordon, Charles, Donald (Donnie), Alfred, Pauline, Edna, and Shirley.

Oscar lived an active and meaningful life, dedicating many years to supporting his community. He worked as an outreach worker with Stepping Stone, where he made a lasting impact on the lives of many. He was known for the countless hours he spent on the road, always ready to listen, lend support, and share a laugh.

In his personal life, Oscar enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and spending time with friends and neighbours. He especially cherished his regular phone calls with his niece, Bernadine and sister Shirley.

Oscar will be deeply missed by his beloved spouse, Linda Grandy, as well as their loyal German Shepherd, Duke, and their cat, Diamond.

He will be remembered for his quick wit, sharp sense of humour, honest nature, and the thoughtful advice he so freely gave to others.

He will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
