Obituary For Patricia Sutherland

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia (Tish) Sutherland, our beloved Mum, Ma, Evil Stepmother, Gammy, and Oma, on Friday, April 19, 2019.

After marrying the love of her life, Robert Sutherland, in 1981, they moved to Germany for several years where some of her fondest memories were made. Tish devoted her life to her family and was happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren- her pride and joy. She had a huge heart, a twisted sense of humor, and loved to torment the ones she loved most. Without a doubt she was the heart of the family. Although the last several years had been a struggle for her due to illness, her determination and strength never faltered, amazing everyone around her.

Tish is survived by her best friend and loving husband, Robert Sutherland; daughter, Nancy (David) Josselyn; second daughter, Alicia (Mike) Clark; step children, Dianne (Doug) Pace and Wanda (Kevin) Golemiec; as well as her grandson, Jack “Gammy’s Pumpkin”; and many assumed grandchildren, Harmoni, Max, Mateo, Christopher, Michael, Casey, Emily, Steven, and Thomas.

Heartfelt thanks go to the incredible staff of 7A Palliative Care Unit for their extraordinary care during her final weeks.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Online condolences, memories, and photos may be left by visiting: www.donaldwalker.ca

Mum, you have left us far too soon, but you have touched every one of our lives and will never be forgotten. We love you, forever and always.

Condolences

On behalf of Kathie, Chris and Danny Sangster, we extend our heartfelt condolences. Patricia was our next door neighbor on Brock St and I (Doll) have very fond childhood memories of playing with Patricia. Over the years we lost touch but when we occasionally ran into one another it was like we had always been in touch. She was just like that! Thinking about all of you at this very difficult time. The Sangster family.

Robert, Nancy and family; Trish was not just a coworker, she was a dear friend. Through the years we shared our kids accomplishments and babies. We had each others backs in our daily lives at work. The dream team at work; Trish, Michelle and myself had lots of laughs (mostly about ourselves). Our deepest condolences. We will miss her. -Ron and Kim MacLean

Robert, Nancy and family I am so sorry to hear of Trish's passing. We had some great times talking on the phone at work. We talked for a few years before we met in person. We met at John's Lunch and had a great time. We were one another's go to for venting when we needed to vent about work. I was so glad that you two came to my retirement party last year. What I loved the most about her was her love for her family. She was a great lady. Hugs and prayers to all of you.

While I have tears in my eyes from the sorrow of Tish's passing, I also have joy in my heart for the countless memories Emily and I have shared with her, Robert and Nancy. When our two families crossed paths in Germany, a new family bond was created which can never be broken. Tish became a second mom to our daughter Alicia. When Emily and I were transferred to Ottawa and we had to leave Alicia behind in Halifax, Tish was there to help her through some very rough times for which we will be forever grateful. Emily and I have lost our best friend and confidante, but we are comforted in knowing she is with her mom and dad in the next life. Emily and I will never forget Tish. She was a big part of our lives and we loved her dearly.
