Sheila Marie Scott (Perry)
Obituary For Sheila Marie Scott (Perry)
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sheila Marie Scott (nee Perry) announces her passing on Sunday, July 17th at the age of 72 after a long battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at home in Halifax with her husband of 52 years by her side, Alexander Scott.
Born on July 2, 1950 in Halifax, she was the third child and only daughter of Edith and Harold Perry. She is predeceased by her parents and brothers Donald, Richard and David. She is survived by her husband, her children Donald, Sarah and Amanda, and three grandchildren Alexander, Kennedy and Ada.
After marrying on May 8, 1970, Sheila and Alex settled and raised their family in Tantallon. In her younger years she enjoyed Monday night bingo, dances, and Sunday morning flea markets. She was an avid reader and introduced the love of books to her children by taking them with her when the bookmobile made its’ by-weekly stop. She was an animal lover, and always had a cat, dog or budgie bird to dote on. After moving to Halifax, she enjoyed making new friends, going on walks, and shopping at the markets. She was a Mooseheads fan and enjoyed going to their home games. Nothing brought her more joy however than the birth of her first grandchild Alex, followed not long after by her granddaughters Kennedy and Ada. She spent as much time as she could with them, and she was a very proud Nana and loved them fiercely. The “rugrats” will very much miss their Nana.
Cremation has taken place and any donations can be made to the SPCA or Hope for Wildlife in her memory.
