Vesta Theodora Allan passed away on February 24, 2023 at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, at the age of 99. She was born in Saint John New Brunswick, the only daughter of the late Byron Middleton and Bessie Lida (Hanson) Cameron.

Vesta grew up in Saint John and after graduating from Saint John High School she married the late Harris Allan and they began their family there. Harris was transferred to Halifax in 1955 where they lived until the 1970s. Involved with Fairview United Church and CGIT leader there for many years, Vesta also enjoyed playing bridge and bowling with her friends. She loved to sew, making clothes for her daughters and herself, as well as knitting and stitching amazing needlepoint

Vesta and Harris spent their retirement years in Truro where she continued to be active in the Order of the Eastern Star, recently becoming a 75 year member. She and Harris enjoyed doing many things together including travelling in Canada and abroad, cross country skiing and camping. Vesta moved to Middle Sackville in 2013, to be close to her devoted daughter, Elaine. She greatly enjoyed going for drives, walking and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles.Vesta was a blessing and an inspiration to anyone fortunate to meet her.

Vesta is survived by her son Roger Allan, Cobourg, ON, Judith MacIntosh (Hugh) Fredericton, NB, and Elaine Stearman (Bruce) of Middle Sackville, NS. She very much enjoyed her seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Harris, brothers Roland Cameron and Merle Cameron, grandson Bruce MacIntosh and daughter-in-law, Karin Allan.

The family thanks all the staff of 5B for her thoughtful care.

There will be no visitation. Interment will be in Watson Cemetery Truro. A family celebration of her life will take place at a later date.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. I remember all of you from Fairview United. Mom worked with Vesta at the church many times. I remember you all from there and going to school and visiting your home and oh yes, the United church camp with the Ouiji board (Elaine). Hugs to all.
