Obituary For Vincent (Boots) Paul LaPierre

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Vincent Paul LaPierre (Boots) announces his passing after a courageous battle with cancer on June 6 2021.

Vincent leaves behind his wife Suzanne, son Devin (Liana), Son in law Ricky Forgeron, his grandchildren Kaden, Emery, Vera LaPierre, Seth, Jaxon, Cameron Forgeron and all of his nieces and nephews. Along with sister Lorraine (John), brothers Kevin (Jodi), Lawrence (Lucy) Paul (Roxann).

Vincent was predeceased by parents Gerald and Nancy LaPierre and his beautiful daughter Nicole.

Vincent went by many different names, Vinny, Vince, V, Boots and Captain Boots to name a few. However the two I think he enjoyed the most were Dad and Papa. He worked many years as a bartender at various establishments. The Red Fox, The Rusty Anchor, The Derby and The Baylanding. In that industry you meet all kinds of different people, sometimes your their shoulder to lean on, you give people advice, fix problems and tell stories. Many different situations as you can imagine. He once told me “You like to see everyone, there is just some people you like to see leave”. I truly believe he gave everyone a chance and that is one reason why he will be missed by so many! His conversations usually started with “How yah now?” and ended with “I’ll see yah on the flip side!” When Vincent wasn’t working he enjoyed to hunt, fish, play guitar and when He wasn’t doing those things he was spending time with his wife and family.

A celebration of Vincent’s life will take place later this year. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma society of Canada.

I love you, and will love you until I die And in life after that I’ll love you then. Suzanne

Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the sudden passing of Vincent (Boots) LaPierre. We met Boots quite some time ago at the Red Fox, Rusty Anchor bar in Shad Bay and the latest bar was the Bay Landing. as many others have. Boots was a very personable and fun loving guy who loved everyone who crossed his path. We always had great conversations with him during our visits. He will be sadly missed by many. Suzanne and family, so sorry to hear of Boots passing. Jim thought highly of Boots, he may have been one of the ones at times he would like to see leave. But honestly I know Boots was of comfort for Jim when he was sick at times and I so appreciated his taking the time to talk with him. I did not know Boots that well but he seemed to me like a gentle giant. He will be missed by so many. So sorry you are going through this loss. Rest in Peace Boots. Cherish those memories.

Boots was the first person Scott and I met here, on an impromptu date where we stopped at The Bay Landing. From that point on seeing Boots behind the bar always made us smile. I will miss being called Mrs. SMyers, and hearing his laugh. There was a cloud shaped like a bird over Shad Bay a few evenings ago, and I like to think it was Boots looking down over his family, his community, his home. - Sheila MacKenzie
