Obituaries

With sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Carl on September 7, 2026 at home at age 77.

Carl was born in Halifax to the late Norman and Rilla (Adams) Crowell. He is survived by his wife Claire (Marshall), son Jeffery (Susan Dee) Antigonish, his daughter SarahLynn (Christopher Rushing) Maryland USA and his grandchildren Brandon and Sophie Crowell and Kate and Ava Rushing. He is also survived by his sister Sandra (David) Chard of Dartmouth as well as many nieces and nephews.

Carl worked for Moosehead Breweries for many years before moving to marine sales at Seafarer Marine and Fiberglass Marine Supply.

In his youth he was an avid hockey player and then coached for many years. He enjoyed paddling, golf and curling but was happiest at the helm of a sailboat. He was an honorary Life Member of Dartmouth Yacht Club where he spent many years with family and friends.

At Carl’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. The family will host a gathering to celebrate Carl at the Dartmouth Yacht Club on Oct 2, 2026 from 1-3 pm.
