Obituaries

Daniel Kelsie, age 76, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026. Born in February 1950, in Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Albert and Maude (Gibson) Kelsie.

Daniel worked as a commercial glass installer before retiring. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was also a devoted Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs fan and enjoyed cheering on his favourite teams. He also enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter and making lasting memories.

Daniel is survived by his sons, Stephen Priest, Montreal, and Daniel Keating, Alberta; daughter, Danielle Kelsie, Bedford; and grandchildren, Cody, Brandon, Julia, Ethan, Trinity and Brooklyn and six great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Howe, Dartmouth; Gloria Drake, Halifax; Dolores DeWolfe, Dartmouth; Diane Tynes, Dartmouth; Patsy Kelsie, Halifax; Barbara Mitchell, Halifax; and Denise Small, Halifax; brothers, Dexter, Halifax; Victor, Newfoundland and Labrador; David, Moncton; and Roger Small, Halifax; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Daniel was predeceased by his brothers Albert and Paul.

His family and friends will deeply miss Daniel. His love of the outdoors, sports, and the people he held dear will remain a lasting part of the memories shared by those who knew and loved him.
