Obituary For Ivy Louella Jones "Simms"

Ivy Louella Jones (nee Simms), 84 passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Dartmouth general hospital on December 26, 2023.

She was the daughter of the late John and Rhona (Croxen) Simms.

She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and was a woman of strong faith. She loved watching church, dancing in her living room to country music. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home for 25 years then retired.

She was predeased by her loving husband Lyon of 66 years. She is survived by brothers Theodore (late Dorothy), Floyd (late Marva), Myles (Sherlene) and sister Violet. Also survived by her children Mark, Rhonda (Paul Sr) and Marina (Scott). Grandchildren Merle Jr, Paul Jr, and Jordan. Great grandchildren Na’Siya and Deandre. Many nieces and nephews.

The family wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Singh and all the nursing staff on 4 west at the Dartmouth General Hospital.

    Marina and family, I'm so saddened to read this. I have so many lovely memories of Ivy from when we worked together and of course when she worked with my mom and the friendship they shared. She had a beautiful smile and a wonderful laugh and how she loved her family. My heart is with you all, xoxo
