Obituary For Wayne Douglas Lee

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Wayne Douglas Lee, 75 years old, on March 7th, 2022, at Camp Hill Veterans’ Memorial Building, QEII, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

He worked for over 40 years with Sobeys. His love for his job was evident to his co-workers and customers. He took great pride in his Produce Department, signs, and displays. He played softball with Sobeys until he was 63. His famous line after announcing he would be playing the season was, “This is my last year!” He loved baseball and football. His favourite teams were the Blue Jays and the Patriots. Most of all he took pride, loved, and enjoyed his family. He was always willing to help where he could, and his smile was contagious.

He is survived by his wife Glenda Lee (Hartlen), children Sherri (Bobby), Cory (Kelly), Kendra (Duane), Mallory, and stepchildren Shawn and Teri-lyn. By his grandchildren Tanisha (Austin), Aiden, Camden, Aja, Mia, and Zoe. Also, his siblings Larry (Pearl), Tom, Richard, Mary (Andre), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Seth and Ann Lee as well as siblings Scottie, Gloria, Joan, and Louise. We would like to thank all the nurses and support staff at the Camp Hill Veterans’ Memorial Building, QEII for their wonderful care. Visitation will be held at Rock Church, on March 24 from 6pm-9pm. 222 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville, NS B4C 2R4.

Sheila Lucas & Carl Gannon: Condolences to all the Lee family. I remember years ago when I was a child, Wayne came to live with my family for a while, the Lucas's up Crichton Avenue. Years later I used to see him at Sobeys. He had a wonderful personality and had a way of making people feel good just being around him. Rest easy with the angels Wayne.

Summing up Waynes's life, I keep coming back to one thought. Never will you meet a man who more faithfully lived his values. To say Wayne was a kind and gentle man would be an understatement. Wayne lived his life by a moral compass, hard working, compassionate towards everyone and dearly loved his family. He was extraordinary man who acted like an ordinary one. We're going to miss you. Your decency, sincerity, and kind soul remains with us forever. Love Duncan, Logan & Dawn

My sincere condolences to Wayne's family. My memories of Wayne go back to our Dartmouth High School days, his football days, chumming around with Clarence and Darteen dances. Wayne was a super nice friendly guy, a friend to all, always smiling and laughing. When ever I would run into him at work, he always stopped to chat and reminence of our high school years. A wonderful person indeed with a kind warm spirit. One of the "good" people in our world.
