Anne Publicover (Parks)
Obituary For Anne Publicover (Parks)
It is with profound sadness that the family of Anne Publicover (nee Parks), 78 of Lower Sackville, announce her sudden passing.
Anne grew up in East LaHave and spent her summers biking and exploring the seaside with her brother Jeff. Beginning at age 16, she worked for 4 years at Lunenburg hospital as a nurses aide then married and had two daughters.
In 1986 Anne remarried and spent the rest of her life with her loving and easy going husband Gregory.
As a highly creative spirit she spent her youth drawing and early on turned her attention to fashion. No one else could leave a thrift store looking like a million bucks the way she did. She prided herself on her jewelry collection - many pieces she designed herself.
Although a homebody by nature, she deeply appreciated the hospitality provided by two close friends, Crystal and Brad, through their annual BBQs and Holiday meals.
Not one for large groups and casual friends, Anne’s true friendships were deep and long lasting. A testament to this was her 50+ year friendships with Carol Johnson and Carol Zinck (who she met working at Lunenburg Hospital).
She would begin her day walking mindfully through her neighbourhood greeting all the birds and wildlife, earning her the affectionate nickname ‘The Bird Lady’. Anne was a deeply sensitive woman who took great comfort in nature and the day to day simplicity of caring for her home and family.
Anne was known for her eclectic taste in music, and her extensive record collection.
She possessed a sharp wit, often coining phrases she referred to as her ‘Annerisms’.
Anne made an indelible impression on all who met her.
Anne will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 44 years, Gregory Publicover; daughters, Lisa (Sean), Sabrina ; stepson, Greg; sister, Sherry (Leonard) and her one niece and two nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents Shirley and Kieth; brothers, Jeff and Barry.
A celebration of life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 162 located at 45 Sackville Cross Road, Lower Sackville, on August 15th at 12pm.
Those wishing to make a donation is honor of Anne, please donate to a charity of your choosing.
Condolences
