Doris Darlene Jordan

Obituary For Doris Darlene Jordan

Jordan, Doris Darlene

It is with a shattered heart we announce the sudden passing of Doris Darlene Jordan (64)

aka DD, Darlene, Ninnie and last but certainly not least Mom to many.

Darlene is predeceased by her father Basil Jordan and Mother Doris Jordan (Gray)

She is survived by her Sons Chad Jordan (Alf Morrison) and Kevin Mackenzie, Brothers Danny, Buddy (Rhonda) and

Sisters Nancy Jordan, Karen Mosher (Blaine), Shelley Kidson (Bruce) as well as her 3 Nieces ; Amber, Jamie and Madison . Heather Gray and Zarrin (god son) and her very best friend Eydie Teas (Neil).

Darlene grew up in Lower Sackville with her 5 siblings who meant the world to her. Darlene spent her younger years working at Connors Deli and the last majority of her life working alongside Debbie and Glen and a great crew at A1 Towing whom most days she loved dearly.

Darlene adored all of her children fiercely and was not afraid to show it. She would give anyone the shirt off of her back and had a heart of gold. Darlene loved the ocean, going to Peggy's Cove and looked forward to her annual camping trip to Smileys campground every year. Darlene spent 20 years of her life raising and spoiling her nieces and nephew and anyone else who needed her. She gave with all she had and expected nothing in return. Everyone around her was always and completely taken care of. Everyone will greatly miss her big delicious meals during the holidays where everyone left with extra because she always made sure everyone was fed and will miss her backyard campfires.

She spent her last few years with her beloved animals at home whom she loved more than anything and her son Kevin. She was so proud of the men she’d raised her boys and boys to be.

Darlene passed surrounded by love and her closest people and will be forever missed and certainly never forgotten. Many thanks to the nursing staff at Dartmouth General ICU for their kindness and support.

My MothersVoice

I hear your voice

When my day begins

Be kind to all

Some may become friends

Your voice echoes strong

When life gets tough

Dont lose faith

Your best is enough

I am never afraid

To seize the day

Because my mothers voice is with me

To guide my way.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

It's taken me time to write this, partly because I just don't have enough words at my disposal to remotely express the enormity of DD's loss, and partly because doing this means that loss is real. I met DD a little over 15 years ago when I moved next door to her. This was at an extremely vulnerable time in my life and immediately DD made it clear "she was in my corner." And from that day on, until her sudden passing, she was always there, in my corner. Her fierce love, loyalty and protection for those she cared about helped make me strong because no matter how bleak the day may seem, I always knew DD had my back. DD happily gave never ceasing love and support for her family, even if it meant putting herself second, or third, or fourth... I'm not ashamed to admit that I feel a little more vulnerable in the world now that my "corner" sits empty of the force that was my friend, that was DD. Chad, Kevin, Jamie, Amber and Madison. My heart aches to offer some form of comfort to you in DD's passing. I know there are no words I can express, no actions I can take that will take away the pain of your loss. All I will say, is "I'm forever in your corner, no matter what." (Also, even though I am a Montréal Canadiens fan, I may just have to root for the Toronto Maple Leafs from time to time ~ mon Dieu!) ~Tracy~

I grew up with her as my next door neighbour, she was living in our community much longer than I had! She was always there for me and my family. Sometimes it felt like we were even distant family. Hearing about her passing is heartbreaking and it won't be the same without her in everyone's lives. My condolences to all her family and friends who love her and who she loved. 💔

Danny, Karen, Angela Probert and family and to Darlene's Son and all other friends and family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of a school friend. I went to school with Darlene. I used to run into her often at the grocery store but have not seen her around in a long time but when we used to run in to each other we would always catch up where we left off. She truly was a Special kind and she will be missed. I will never forget her. Hugs to you all and hold on to the memories. May God comfort each and every one of you during this difficult time. To the Jordan Family cousin Dar will be missed. A story, A-1 is a long time friend/client. We spoke many times over the years. One day I mentioned I have cousins who live in Lower Sackville. I mentioned the family name Jordan and she broke out laughing realizing it was her cousins wife she had been dealing with all those years and never realized it was each other . Wayne & Dar Smeltzer

DD, There's aren't words enough to describe the admirable woman you were to those around you. You raised Chad to be such a kind and giving soul.. you took on your nieces and nephew , opened your home and with open arms raised them and showed them unconditional love. You took care of every person around you more than you'll ever know. Although we had our moments, I always had love and respect for the lessons you taught and will always appreciate you and what you have done for all of us. You taught us to live in the moment, to cherish everything we had, always be grateful, and to always stand up for what we believed in. You loved so hard with everything you had right until the very end. Many could learn from the wisdom you bestowed. Gone too soon. I will make sure Chad is ok. Promise. ❤️ ..... I love you Always. -Pizza Girl

I will miss Darlene emensly and have too many memories to recap. I loved and will remember our conversations fondly. Her love for those in her life make me think of the song lyrics below- I will miss you my kindred spiri FOR GOOD I've heard it said That people come into our lives for a reason Bringing something we must learn And we are led To those who help us most to grow If we let them And we help them in return Well, I don't know if I believe that's true But I know I'm who I am today Because I knew you Like a comet pulled from orbit As it passes a sun Like a stream that meets a boulder Halfway through the wood Who can say if I've been changed for the better? But, Because I knew you I have been changed for good It well may be That we will never meet again In this lifetime So let me say before we part So much of me Is made of what I learned from you You'll be with me Like a handprint on my heart And now whatever way our stories end I know you have re-written mine By being my friend Like a ship blown from its mooring By a wind off the sea Like a seed dropped by a skybird In a distant wood Who can say if I've been changed for the better? But, Because I knew you I have been changed for good And just to clear the air I ask forgiveness For the things I've done you blame me for But then, I guess we know there's blame to share And none of it seems to matter anymore. Who can say if I've been changed for the better? I do believe I have been changed for the better And because I knew you I have been changed For good ALL MY LOVE TO MY JORDAN FAMILY- CHAD SHE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN- THROUGH THE LOVE AND STORIES SHARED, SHE WILL REMAIN PART OF EACH OF US!
