Obituaries

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Earl (Doug) Whynot at the Dartmouth General Hospital on July 8, 2025, at the age of 89. Born in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late William and Olive Foster.

Earl worked for 32 years as a red seal mechanic for Kmart Ltd., Dartmouth, NS. Before that, he was a small business owner of a clothing store, gas station, and small grocery store. He enjoyed classic cars, stock car racing, and home improvement projects.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Hilda, son Dennis (Brenda), and sisters Catherine and Betty. He is survived by sons Mark (Colette), Steven (Carol), and Vincent, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Donald K. Walker’s Funeral Directors, Dartmouth, NS. At Earl’s request, there will be no funeral service at this time. Online condolences may be made to www.donaldkwalker.ca.
